Tomorrow, Sunday, June 13^th, the kids and I will be heading to Kenya!  We have a lot to do while we are there, but we are also looking forward to catching up with our friends and those we consider family.  Jeromy and I feel it is important for our children to maintain an understanding of their roots, to continue to develop servant attitudes, and to grow their connections with people like Samuel and his family.

Our W.A.K. project is not as exciting as drilling a well or renovating a kitchen, and sorry Ariel, I will not be hammering out old rusty nails – however, we do have several tasks we hope to complete while we are there.  One such task, will be to obtain the full story on every child enrolled in PEC (Provision Education Center).  I am sure many of you have wondered what it means to be an “at-risk” kid in Kenya.  It is my goal to return with answers in complete profiles as we are considering opening a child-sponsorship program in the near future.

Now, that might not seem like a lot of work, but I am going to have to steal Samuel from his usual responsibility of saving the world, and nail him to the floor for days upon days to get the full story.  Thankfully, this will not be my task alone.  Three of our team members – Matt, Terry, and Michael Moore will be meeting me in Kenya on June 25^th.  We also have a HUGE surprise for the church.  Matt found a bargain and we can’t wait to give it to them.  Curious???  Great!  Starting June 16^th, check our blog at http://wearekenya.wordpress.com/ I promise a blog at least every other day!  It was tough for our other teams to blog from Kenya, but the groundwork was laid and the internet challenge has been conquered!  So, here we go…see you on the other side!
